  • DIN Butt Fusion Welding and Socket Welding True Union Ball Valve

    Ball Valve

DIN Butt Fusion Welding and Socket Welding True Union Ball Valve

    BUTT FUSION WELDING SIZE: 1/2"~2"

    SOCKET WELDING SIZE: 1/2”~ 4”

    JOINT END: SOCKET (DIN)

    WORKING PRESSURE: 150PSI

What is different between true union butt fusion welding ball valve and socket welding ball valve?

Butt Welding is a process in which two materials are joined end to end and then fused together by thermal or non-thermal processes. Socket Welding is a method of making a raised socket on a pipe and then welding another pipe into it.
Butt welding and socket welding structure difference
      1. Butt-welding structure: Butt-welding welded joints are generally zigzag, the end face is flat or slightly beveled structure, the weld is "V" or "X" type.
      2. Socket welding structure: socket welding welded joints by the socket and pin two parts, the socket is cone-shaped, the outer diameter is larger than the outer diameter of the tube, the pin diameter is smaller than the diameter of the socket at the end of the small, welded joints for the ring.
Advantages and disadvantages of butt welding and socket welding
      1.Advantages of butt welding:
Butt welding has the characteristics of good weld linearity, flat weld section, high welding strength, widely used in the connection of high-strength structural components.
      2.Disadvantages of butt welding:
Butt welding requires high processing accuracy, workers need to be skillful in operating technology and lead technology, and for the pipe wall thickness requirements are high, otherwise it will produce sinking, deviation and cracks and other defects.
      3.Advantages of socket welding:
socket weld head structure is tight, high strength, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature occasions of pipe connection.
      4.Disadvantages of socket welding:
the wall thickness of socket joints is restricted, prone to thermal deformation and defects of poor weld quality.
Butt welding and socket welding are common welding methods, which method you choose, need to be based on the actual situation for comprehensive consideration.
